Mizunami, Gifu

Mizunami, Tajimi and Toki in Gifu claim to be the hottest cities in Japan during the summer. On 7/27/2008 when I was there, it recorded 41 Celcius, 106 F at noon. Aside from the heat, it is the biggest ceramics production region in Japan and you will find nice pieces and sometimes good bargains.

Ichinokura Sakazuki Museum in Tajimi
Donburi Kaikan for shopping ceramics
Nakashima Shuzo- sake brewer of Shiroku and Kozaemon
